From the book, The Mysteries of Household Enemies and Wickedness
📖 Scripture: “For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it... but it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance.” — Psalm 55:12–13
Reflection:
The most painful betrayal is not from strangers — it’s from the familiar. David’s anguish in this psalm mirrors the pain many feel today: betrayal by a brother, friend, or spiritual leader. These are household enemies — close enough to see your vulnerabilities but wicked enough to use them against you.
God sees the betrayal. Like David, you are not alone in this anguish.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, heal me from the wounds of betrayal. Give me discernment to see clearly and strength to love wisely. Fight for me, O Lord, and restore my peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Call to Action:
Take time today to release the pain of betrayal to God. Journal what you need to let go of and pray Psalm 55 over your situation.
